Greetings Dear Mission of Hope Friends;
We recently were blessed with an amazing Outreach & Distribution Event in Williamsburg, KY. When we arrived at the Event Center at 7 AM (Event began at 8 AM) on Friday morning; we were met by almost 75 people standing in line, and this was a much needed help for this community. We ended up serving and assisting almost 500 families. Everyone was cordial, well-mannered, and very orderly; and many of those there expressed their gratitude and thanks to many of our Volunteer Heroes. The excess items we had left over were taken to the Cedar Ridge Ministry Center which we were partnered with by our volunteers and Cedar Ridge volunteers.
But without question, the greatest blessing of all was the evangelism spirit that was present all day. And we celebrate the praiseful news that 11 people accepted Jesus as their Savior and greatest source of hope. We also had many of our volunteers pray for many of those present who requested it, and truly were grateful for it.
We were indeed blessed in so many ways the two days we were in Williamsburg. When we arrived at the Williamsburg Event Center on Thursday morning to set up we were greeted by Brother Keith Decker and some of his staff. And the Williamsburg Event Center staff were very cordial and helpful with anything we needed.
I want to say thank you to all of those who helped make this Outreach Event possible this past week. To Shirley Plant & Diane Webster at the MOH Office and all of those Mission of Hope volunteers, who helped load our MOH Trucks. To our MOH truck driver volunteers who drove the trucks to Kentucky. To our friends at Rockford Baptist Church that both collected items for the MOH to take to KY and also to the Mission Team from their church that went to KY with us. There were several other MOH volunteers who came and helped both days. A special thanks to our Evangelism Team of Rev. Jerry Webster and David Lynch who boldly proclaimed God\’s Word to many, many people there and also helped lead those new bothers & sisters to know The Lord. And I also want to express a very special Thank You to Rev. Keith & Joyce Decker and their staff along with the Williamsburg, KY Convention Center for being willing to host this wonderful event. This event and events like them remind us once again of the importance of being able to GO and Serve. It is indeed a blessed privilege to do so and one that we cherish immensely.
Thanks for your friendship and support, and for all you do to help us extend True Hope.
Sincerest Regards;
Emmette Thompson, Executive Director – Mission of Hope
