Another Back to School season has come to a close, and we are so thankful for everyone who helped make it possible!

This year, Mission of Hope had the privilege of serving nearly 10,000 students across 29 elementary schools throughout Appalachia. What began with collecting and preparing school supplies became so much more when our volunteers and delivery teams began visiting the schools.

There is something special about Back to School deliveries. It isn’t simply about delivering backpacks and supplies. It is about walking through the doors of our partner schools, seeing familiar faces, meeting students, encouraging educators, and reminding children that their community cares about them.

We are incredibly grateful for the school staff who welcomed our teams and helped us distribute supplies to their students. The relationships we have built with these schools are one of the most meaningful parts of this ministry. We are thankful for the teachers, principals, counselors, and staff members who work tirelessly each day to care for and educate the children in their communities.

We also want to give a heartfelt thank-you to every volunteer and delivery team who gave their time to make this program possible. From preparing supplies to loading trucks and making deliveries, every helping hand played an important part in getting these resources into the hands of students.

And, of course, our favorite part was seeing the smiles of the students. Every backpack delivered represents more than school supplies. It is a reminder to a child that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

As another school year begins, we are praying for every student and educator we had the opportunity to meet. We pray for classrooms filled with learning, teachers who feel encouraged, students who know they are capable, and schools that continue to be places of hope in their communities.
