Shared by a Mission of Hope Volunteer
During our outreach event on Saturday, May 31st in Claiborne County, we witnessed so many moments of compassionβbut one stood out in a special way.
A group of caring ladies from a local church had lovingly handmade teddy bears, each one paired with a simple prayer. One of our Mission of Hope volunteers had the joy of giving them outβand in doing so, opened the door for smiles, conversations, and moments of true connection.
Her heartfelt reflection below reminds us that while food may nourish the body, love and kindness can nourish the soul. Weβre so thankful for every partner and volunteer, including Second Harvest Food Bank and Compassion Ministries, who help us bring hope to our Appalachian neighbors.
