Greetings Dear Mission of Hope Friends;
We have had an absolutely incredible response at the recent Saturday & Sunday Food Drive for The Hope at the Knoxville Zoo. The weather was beautiful both days and it really helped to make for a record crowd turnout. Around 14,000 people came on Saturday and a little over 17,000 people came on Sunday. We filled all 40 of our fifty-five gallon MOH Blue Barrels, 50 large boxes, and hundreds of bags as well. We feel comfortable in saying that if we put everything in the boxes and bags into barrels, we would have 60 barrels of food items and we also had hundreds of hygiene items donated as well. What a blessing it was for our MOH Food Volunteers to open the door of the MOH truck on Monday morning and witness God\’s Harvest.
A very special Thank You to Teresa Collins and all of her fellow Zoo Staff members…
To Steve & Carolyn Vought and their Saturday Event MOH Volunteer leadership…
To Merideth Moore and our MOH Volunteer Friends from Wood Properties…
To Christi McIlwain, Dan Jones, Dawn Takebayashi and Service Provider Group Friends…
To Walter Bailey & Don Jones who joined me on Sunday from the MOH…
And an extremely special Thank You to all of our Animal Friends at the Zoo…who were a blessing.
And a special Thank You to all of those who came out to support such a wonderful cause.
Thanks for your friendship and for all you do to help us extend True HOPE.
Sincerest Regards;
Emmette Thompson, Executive Director – Mission of Hope
