Greetings Dear Friends…from The Hope.
Our recent Outreach & Distribution Event in Hazard, KY was a tremendous Blessing for so many people in so many special ways. And this community is in desperate need of assistance and hope. The people that serve alongside of us there, Missy Miller and her staff, are immensely grateful that we come and help them with this event; and we are so grateful for all of the volunteers they bring to assist us. And the over 500 people we served that day are very appreciative of the donation resources we bring for them: food, clothing, furniture, household Items, etc.; and many of them offer a \”thank you\” as they head out of the facility we\’re at. It truly touches your heart strings.
This year we were blessed to have our friend David Lynch along with Gerry & Jackie Klima from The Gideon’s serve as our Evangelism Team. They gave out hundreds of Bibles & tracts, and they prayed for many who came up and asked for it that day. But, the greatest harvest yield of all was the 28 people who accepted Christ that day and left the facility we were at with a brand new changed heart. It was one very inspiring and emotional moment after another and we were tearfully humbled by them all.
These types of outreach & distribution events affirm the needs are great in rural Appalachia, and that we are being blessed with the privilege of going to serve those in dire need and hopelessness. Please continue to pray for those we serve and that we continue to have the opportunity to be a vessel of God\’s love.
Thanks for your friendship and support and for all you do to help us extend The HOPE.
Sincerest Regards;
Emmette Thompson, Executive Director – Mission of Hope
