Saturday morning in Bean Station, Tennessee, dozens of volunteers will gather at Clayton Homes with one goal in mind: to bring hope to families in need. They’ll load cars with boxes of food, hygiene items, and essentials, ready to serve approximately 500 families across Grainger County.
For these families, a simple drive-thru event can mean hundreds of dollars’ worth of food, practical supplies, and a reminder that someone cares. For the volunteers, it’s a chance to roll up their sleeves and make a real difference in their neighbors’ lives.
Mission of Hope, in partnership with Compassion Ministries and Second Harvest, is hosting this outreach as the first of four events planned for the year. Each event is an opportunity to meet physical needs while also sharing encouragement and hope rooted in Christian faith.
“Hope comes in small but meaningful ways,” said Mission of Hope. “A box of food, a kind word, a warm smile…these moments remind families they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.”
We are especially grateful to Clayton Homes for providing the location, creating a safe and welcoming space for families to receive both help and encouragement. Volunteers, donors, and partners all play a crucial role in making this possible.

Through the generosity of supporters and the dedication of volunteers, Mission of Hope continues to serve families facing food insecurity, economic hardship, and limited access to basic necessities. For nearly 30 years, the ministry has been a source of practical help and encouragement throughout rural Appalachia.
As this year’s outreach events continue, we invite the community to pray for families, volunteers, and partners involved in these efforts, and to celebrate the impact that can happen when neighbors come together to serve one another.
Because at Mission of Hope, every box of food, every volunteer, and every act of kindness is a reminder that hope is never out of reach.
