How We Serve

Mission of Hope is a ministry that provides essential resources for students and families living with poverty across rural Appalachia.

Roots and Branches

We describe the structure of our organization as roots and branches. Our roots are our Mountain Ministry Centers and the area schools we serve, while our branches are evangelism and outreach programs, resource distribution, college scholarships, and our back-to-school and Christmas programs

Evangelism & Outreach

Evangelism and Outreach: Sharing the love of Christ is first in everything we do. We provide Bibles and tracts to anyone who wants them, as well as someone to join in prayer at every event. Through our ministry centers, we serve people in those communities through resource and food giveaways and those with disabilities through handicap ramp construction.

Resource Distro

Resource Distribution: We send trucks to our Mountain Ministry Centers filled with household goods, baby items, food, hygiene items, clothing, furniture, and other essentials from our Mission of Hope Warehouse.

College Scholarships

College Scholarship: Through financial donations, we provide 13 scholarships to area high schoolers, as well as one scholarship each to Alice Lloyd College and Lincoln Memorial University.

Back To School

Back to School: Backpacks, school supplies, pledges to graduate, and hygiene products are provided for over 11,000 elementary school students.

Christmas Program

Christmas Program: Mission of Hope brings toys, food, hygiene products, and clothes to over 13,000 children and families during the Christmas season.

Mountain Ministry Centers

Mountain Ministry Centers: Located in each community we serve, our ministry centers assess the need in the area so we can accurately distribute donations to families.

Schools

Schools: We serve 29 elementary schools and 13 high schools in some of the poorest economic communities in Southeast Kentucky and Northeast Tennessee.
