At Mission of Hope, every delivery is more than just a truckload of supplies—it’s a lifeline of hope for families in need. Recently, our volunteers had the privilege of delivering essential items to the Hazard Perry Salvation Army in Eastern Kentucky, supporting their mission to serve families facing difficult circumstances.
This delivery included furniture, clothing, food, and hygiene products—items that many families desperately need. Each donation represents a small step toward helping someone rebuild, recover, or simply find comfort in their daily lives. Whether it’s a warm coat for the winter, a bed for a child, or a meal for a struggling family, these items make a real difference in the lives of so many.
Answering the Call to Serve
The Hazard Perry Salvation Army plays a crucial role in supporting families throughout the region. They provide emergency assistance, food distributions, and disaster relief to those in need. One of their key leaders, Missy Miller, has dedicated over 27 years of her life to serving families in Perry County. Under her leadership, the Salvation Army has become a beacon of hope, responding to countless crises, including the historic Eastern Kentucky floods.
The 2022 floods devastated entire communities, leaving many families without homes, belongings, or even basic necessities. Missy Miller and her team stepped in immediately, providing essentials, comfort, and reassurance to those who had lost everything. In times like these, partnerships become even more essential. By working together, Mission of Hope and the Hazard Perry Salvation Army can provide relief, encouragement, and tangible support to those struggling to rebuild their lives.
The Heart of Mission of Hope: Our Volunteers
None of this would be possible without our incredible Mission of Hope volunteers. Their willingness to serve, to drive countless miles, and to load and unload trucks filled with donations is what keeps our mission alive. Each volunteer plays a vital role in making sure deliveries like this one reach those who need them most.
But our volunteers don’t just drop off supplies—they share kindness, compassion, and encouragement. A simple conversation or a warm smile can be just as meaningful as the items being delivered. Every act of service, big or small, helps to remind these families that they are not alone.
Every Delivery is Special
At Mission of Hope, we believe that each delivery represents more than just material goods—it represents love, care, and the generosity of so many who want to make a difference. Every box of food, every blanket, and every hygiene kit is a reminder that someone cares.
We are incredibly grateful for the work of our Mountain Ministry Centers and their commitment to serving families in Appalachian communities. Their dedication to providing hope and assistance to those in need inspires us every day.
To our donors, supporters, and volunteers—thank you. Your kindness fuels our mission, allowing us to continue making these deliveries and spreading Hope to those who need it most.
