Greetings Dear friends from The HOPE.
We have been blessed to have two very special MOH events in recent weeks that I want to share about.
BELL COUNTY, KY – REPAIR FAIR
We had a very good day and wonderful weather for this very special construction Ministry Event in Middlesboro, KY. We worked on a home that had several projects for us to complete and we finished every one of them; including a much needed handicap ramp for a family member there. About mid-day, the two children who lived there came up to me and said, \”Hey mister, we know you. You\’re the man who comes to our school with backpacks and school supplies when school starts and also toys, clothes, and food boxes at Christmas time\”. They attend Yellow Creek Elementary School nearby their home which is one of the 27 current schools we are privileged to be serving. We also prayed over the entire family as we watch the father drive up the new ramp we built with a huge smile on his face and a heart filled with joy.
HANCOCK COUNTY, TN – SPRINGFEST OUTREACH EVENT
What a great day it indeed was in Sneedville at our recent Springfest Event. We had food, hygiene bags, inflatables, crafts & games, clowns, face painting, a music & talent show. We gave out Bibles and tracts as well as great door prizes to both children and adults. We had several folks there come up and say \”thank you\” for doing this wonderful event for their rural community. I even had one gentleman there come up to me and say, \”Many of our kids and families never get to go out of the county and this is really special for them\”.
But for 6 people who came that day, their lives will be changed forever. They accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and asked Him to come into their hearts. And this will be the greatest blessing of this event.
NEW SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
We are now in the middle of our new Mission of Hope Scholarship presentation awards. It’s a special moment when we get to recognize these AWESOME students for their hard work and efforts and personally give to them their Mission of Hope Scholarship. And for most of them they are now the first ones in their family to graduate from high school and now begin the pursuit of their college degree.
A special and hearty THANK YOU to all of those MOH Volunteer Heroes who have gone with us. Thanks for your friendship & support and for all you do to help us extend True HOPE in so many ways.
Sincerest Regards;
Emmette Thompson, Executive Director – Mission of Hope
