Greetings Dear Friends from The Hope.

We have been richly blessed for several years now to have one of our Mission of Hope Program Teams from Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in Knoxville to conduct a HOPE Academy…in the Black Mountain, KY Community.

It’s a weeklong event filled with all kinds of exciting activities and educational classes for both children and adults. There are events during the day and also during the evening. Meals are served with loving hands to all who come. And the hugs given are a true affirmation of the love these dear church volunteers have for all they will encounter during this very special week.

Those attending each event earn \”Hope Dollars\” (not real money), and they get to come to The Hope Store on Friday, the last day of the week long Hope Academy event and use them to get wonderful items that both the church and the Mission of Hope have brought for them. And each day there are Bible lessons presented and the opportunity to have someone pray for each of them. It is a wonderful Outreach Mission Trip and a true blessing for all who attend as well as all who serve as volunteers.

There were 52 dear volunteer friends led by Ginger Forbes, who left this morning for Black Mountain. I will be going up on Thursday to treat everyone to FREE ICE CREAM! Please uplift this very special event and all of those who will be a part of it in your prayers this week. We may never truly know this side of Heaven just how much it means to go and love those we serve and assist, just like Christ did.

Thanks for your friendship and support and for all you do to help us extend True Hope in so many ways.

Sincerest Regards;
Emmette Thompson, Executive Director – Mission of Hope
